Gottman Method Couples Therapy

Based on decades of award-winning research, the Gottman Method is a structured approach to couples counseling that can facilitate lasting results. My clients get powerful tools to help untangle even the most heart-wrenching and complicated relationship issues.

Get a deeper understanding of each other so you can better meet your individual and relationship needs.

Get resources and practices to help overcome painful issues like constant arguing or betrayal.

Rekindle, redefine, reboot, reimagine, and refresh your relationship -- even if you‘re on the verge of divorce.

Let‘s upgrade your communication so you can enjoy a stronger, more authenic and fulfilling relationship.

I‘m a good listener.

And I‘m a Gottman Method certified couples counselor.

This means you‘ll get a structured approach to couples therapy.

Your first four sessions will be a time of assessment. I‘ll visit with and listen to you as a couple, then I‘ll meet with you individually. Your assessment sessions will provide a diagnostic view of where your relationship is and clarify our best path forward.

My goal as your therapist is to introduce tools and skills you can use on your own. When the time is right (and this is unique for each couple) we‘ll phase me out of your relationship journey because:

  1. The Gottman Method of couples counseling works

  2. Therapy shouldn’t last forever

A woman looks worried about her relationship

Many of my clients wonder if their relationship is too far gone.

Here are some issues I can help with:

  • You‘re always fighting OR not talking to each other

  • You don‘t experience physical or emotional intimacy anymore

  • You feel like you‘re living with a stranger

  • You‘re frequently irritable or snap at each other in frustration

  • You don‘t seem to share similar financial values

  • You‘re reeling from infidelity or a betrayal

  • Your inlaws or extended family are problematic

  • Your conflicts turn into heated power struggles

  • You have different parenting styles

  • Your aging parents (and their care) has added a layer stress

  • You‘re unsure how to support a family member‘s mental illness

While I can help with a wide range of relationship issues, it‘s important to note -- I‘m not the right therapist for you if your issues are rooted in addiction or domestic violence.

Getting started is easy...

Schedule a quick 20-minute consultation.

I’ll learn a little about you and answer your questions so we can see if I’m the right counselor for you.

Couples Counseling begins with a comprehensive assessment. This will be the first four sessions.

The first session will be an assessment of the couple and will last 90 minutes. The second and third sessions will be individual sessions with each partner. These sessions will be 55 minutes each. The fourth session will be with both partners and will last 90 minutes. During the fourth session, I will share the results of the assessment, and we will collaborate on goals which will outline the remainder of our journey together.

You‘ll look forward to your weekly sessions.

Every time we meet you‘ll learn new coping skills that help life feel less heavy and hard. What‘s more? I’ll be a support system between sessions via text support.
